With reference to the above posts regarding API standard 2000. I have a copy of the fifth edition printed in april 1998. Regarding the expression given for venting requirements in metric units, I think that the latent heat should be expressed as J/kg not kJ/kg...anyone disagree?

Dear niallmacdowell,

I am in agreement with you if you refer to API 2000, 5th ed., Apr. 1998, page 8. The latent heat should be J/kg.

In addition, the Wetted Surface Area, section 4.3.3.2.1, under SI unit table, it should be "(square meter)" instead of "(square mm").

Hope you agree with me.

Best regards,

In Nov. 1999, API published an errata for formula 1B, page 8 as well as formula 5B, page 20 stating the units on "L" to be J/Kg.
