Tertiary Butyl alcohol (TBC) is usd as an antioxidant for storage of 1,3-butadiene for long periods. The required range of TBC in butadiene should be from 50 - 100 ppm. we have a stock of 20 MT. when we have analyzed for TBC, it came out to be 10 ppm.
We have no facility to add TBC.
Can any body suggest how to add TBC?

Use a "line mixer('static mixer')" with a "dispenser (a small liquid 'injection pump')" on the discharge and suction side of the pump respectively. To every 1000 kg of feed, inject 0.065 g +/- 0.025 g of TBC. The injection and mixing would preferrably be done during transfer of 1.3BD from one tank to another.

If you need a better homogeniety of local concentration in the holding tank after transfer, circulate the liquid by pump with "tank mixing nozzle('tank mixer')" on the inside nozzle tip in the tank, analyze the concentrations of samples taken periodically, and check the standard deviation until it meets your anticipation. If things go well, the mixing time would be less than 30 minutes.
