What is the generelly acceptable range of velocity for tank filling line / inlet for say atmospherically vented Demineralised Water storage tank

I think,it is a nozzle sizing problem and the evaluation should be performed based on value of :density*velocity*velocity that normally when no inlet device is foreseen,should be Max. 1500 (in SI unit).Obviously,when inlet device is foreseen that value would be higher.
You can calculate the velocity as per above limitation.
