Dear gentlemen,

I am using hysys building butene, butane splitters.

Usually, PR model is used for hydrocarbon system with non-polar or slightly polar component. In this case, the components are non-polar. Also, the operating pressure is not too high for activity coefficient (it means PRSV model is not necessary).

Could anyone give me some suggestion that which property package is better for this case or in your past job, you use other property package (such as COMthermo)?

Many Thanks,

David

Peng-Robinson is just fine. You are dealing with true components, with fully defined properties in HYSYS database. This one is straightforward task, no headache or doubts.

Just go to the aspentech support website and look for thermodynamical packages, a case study you will find.
