Hi,

Use the compressibility factor spreadsheet I have posted on:

http://www.cheresour...hl=spreadsheets

In the spreadsheet, give the mole fraction of the indivdual components of your natural gas and provide the Critical Pressure and Temperature of the individual components. Calculate the pseudo-critical pressure and temperature of the gas mixture. Provide the values of these in the input section as well as your operating pressure and temperature and voila you will have your compressibility factor z as well as density of the gas mixture @operating temperature and pressure.

Regards,
Ankur.

Dear Ankur,

Thanks for your response,
In a case of design new line for natural gas , Z factor will be calculated on operating or design temperature & pressure?

Regards

Depends on whether you want the operating or design compressibility. Seriously, your question makes no sense. Tell us what you want to calculate and we can help.

To evaluate the performance of an operating or soon to be operating pipe line, you will want to use the actual or operating properties. (By evaluate, I mean to determine the velocity and the hydraulics of the system.) If you are designing the pipeline, then use design values. Design values are normally used for pipe sizing.

I can give you an Excel sheet using AGANX-19 method for Z factor of NG.
This is the most accurate method, but my excel sheet currently is not in a good presentable format.
So it will take sometime to re-work on it.
