Hi Guys,
I would like to know how to design a JT Valve- i.e Pressure Control Valve.
Please i will appreciate Recommended Text Books, JOurnals and design Books

First, this post belongs in another Forum. This Forum is dedicated to Safety Relief Devices, so lets respect the attempt to organize and keep all threads in that condition. I will move this thread to the Student Forum, where I believe it belongs because of its basic and elementary nature.
Secondly, what kind of "design" are you referring to? There is essentially no process design involved with an expansion valve - a "J-T" valve is taken as meaning a Joule - Thomson expansion valve that allows for the free, adiabatic expansion of a fluid (either gaseous or liquid). It is usually constructed as a pressure control valve, controlling the downstream pressure and allowing for the creation of a low-temperature and mixed phase fluid in its outlet. It is used primarily in refrigeration cycles or processes. I presume that is what you are writing about. If so, then I can state that only specific and experienced manufacturers mechanically "design" and fabricate these special devices. Professional engineers merely specify them and purchase the finished product.
If you would merely "like to know" how to mechanically design and fabricate one, your best source of information is a fabricator - like Fishere Controls and others.
Can you explain what you are trying to do, in greater detail?
