Hi There People

Need a little help with an experiment on my car. I want to be able to mix a certain percentage of Nitromethane with Petrol/Gasoline. The problem is it wont stay mixed without something to prevent dissolution. I know that Nitromethane mixes easily with Methanol as well as 2.5% water. Any idea what I can use as a binding agent to bind Notromethane with Petrol/gasoline?

Thanks
Nick

Nick,
Your description of your problem is very confusing. If you want to mix nitromethane and petrol (gasoline) to make a motor fuel, then you want a homogeneous mixture. What you call a problem (preventing dissolution) actually means that you are getting the desired homogeneous mix. Am I missing something here? Do you want an immiscible mixture of two liquid phases? That would not be good for a motor fuel.
