Hi,

I'm running a dynamic HYSYS model of a post combustion carbon capture plant which uses MEA (monoethanolamine) solvent. In steady state mode changes in the component efficiences in the absorber appear to have an effect but in dynamics mode this is not the case. If I enter 0, 1 or anything in between the process doesn't appear to be affected.

Can someone with expreience of HYSYS please explain why?

Thanks

Gordon

AFAIK, when on dynamic simulation, Hysys takes into account the tray configuration/dimension, which in itself will determine its efficiency.

In short, your tray efficiencies will solely depend on how you set up your column internals.

Try to tinker with the tray internals configuration instead.

The absorption and regenaration of amines is dependant on operating conditions.

You need amine license to show the effects or you can use spreadsheet to show above effects,
