Hi everybody,

I was wonder if any of you have relevant experience with AFT Fathom. I’m calculating a pump which doesn’t have a define flow, it distribute the glucose to eleven fermenters one of them with a fixed flow of 185 kg/hr and the other 11 with a flow between 150 kg/hr and 500 kg/hr. The minimum amount of glucose per hour that the pump can send is 3000 kg/hr, does values have been fixed by the client and returning some extra flow which is unknown to the suction vessel. At the last junction before going back to the suction vessel the pressure has to be at least 0.85 barg in order to reach the vessel with a pressure of 0.3 barg taking into account the friction losses along the return pipe.

Fathom is giving me at some point negative flows which means that the junction instead of being a source is acting like a sink, and the suction vessel at the end is receiving the same amount of flow that the pump is sending.

I will appreciate all your help.

Thanks

Karmele
