Hi everybody,

I want to calculate radiation isopleths for a propylene flare with following design basis:

propylene max flow: 21200 kg/hr
propylene normal flow: 12000 kg/hr
temp: 55 DegC
LHV: 20115 btu/lb
flare ht: 48 m
air velocity avg: 5 m/s

this topic is very new for me so please help me for this calculation.

chandan,

Radiation isopleths are curves showing equal flare radiation intensities to the surrounding of a flare. This may be very difficult to do manually. What you need is a sophisticated radiation analysis software such as "Shell FRED" or "DNV PHAST". For some further reading on radiation isopleths refer the links below:

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Ankur.

Dear Ankur ,

Do u have any idea about the BP -CIRRUS Software for this radiation study ?

We are currently executing one project ( Contineous Emmission monitoring system) in that FEED consultant has used this software for study ?

Regards,

Jatin
