In my crude distillation column simulation I have several side stripper which has reboilers. Now when I enter column environment I can see the reboiler heat duty data but in parent environment I can not see it. So in real plant ultimately I have to supply those energy. For overall material balance of the plant I need those energy values and how do I get those values for my dynamic simulation ?

Chinmoy,
I am not sure this will work, but its worth a try. In the parent environment, right click the column icon and at the bottom of the context menu, there is an item called 'show sub-flowsheet items' or something like that. That will lead to the entire sub-flowsheet being displayed in the parent environment. You might need to re-arrange the things a bit on the main flow sheet, but I think you will be able to access side stripper reboiler heat flow streams into your mail sheet.

Thank you for your reply. But the problem is that sub-flowsheet does not allow me to add energy stream to any equipment.

Hi chinmoy,
On Parameters/Solver tab of the Column, change the solving method from the default "Hysim Inside-Out" to "Modified Hysim Inside-Out". It will allow you to add unit opertions in coulmn sub-flowsheet.

Hi Chinmoy,
I understand that what you need is to see the energy stream of those side stripper reboilers in main simulation environment, if I am correct then following procedure will help you,
1. Add the energy streams (equal to the number of Reboilers you have).
2. Click on the column and go to "Flowsheet" tab at the column bottom, it displays all available streams (feed, product and energy) in simulation main environment and column sub-flowsheet.
3. Just attach the energy streams you added in step-1 to the respective energy streams of side stripper reboiler.
4. If required re-run the column (doesn't need normally) and you will see all the energy streams with energy values.

Hope above procedure helps you, in case of any doubt please feel free to ask.
