Dears,

I'm dealing with pipeline in AspenPlus.

I want to calculata the outlet pressure form a 3000m long pipeline.

Inlet T = 200°C, P=300bar.

Fluid = mixture of water+co2 (0.99, 0.01 of mass)

pipe diameter =0.25m

adiabatic.

When running the software, the result is an error:

  **  ERROR
FLASH CALCULATIONS FAILED TO CONVERGE IN  30  ITERATIONS.  PROBLEM IN
      FLASH CALCULATIONS FOR PROPERTIES.

  **  ERROR
BECAUSE OF ERRORS ENCOUNTERED DURING THE CALCULATIONS
FOR SEGMENT    1, PIPELINE CALCULATIONS CANNOT PROCEED.
      ERROR CODE =      4

Do you know how to solve the problem?

Best Regards

Roberto

Without seeing what you actually put into aspen, it is hard to diagnose what caused the problem...

Dear all,

I have similar problem with aspen plus and steam+CO2 stream. I cannot figure out which is the best thermodynamic model to be used.

Refprop doesn't work with high concentration of CO2 in water/steam. Which model do you suggest?

Thanks a lot in advance.

Simone
