hello,

 

      I am chemical engineering student and currently working on scrubber design to scrub SO2 by NaOH.

But I am unable to find solubility and diffusivity data for the same. I have seen several other threads on this topic but couldn't get these data.

Gas composition:

SO2 = 33%

O2 = 4%

N2 = 63%

 

aq. NaOH composition = 48% w/w

 

Please help me, its urgent.

     I have checked all these but couldn't find what I am looking for. I have few doubts, it would be great if you clarify;

 

1. As this is a acid base system so how will you define solubility of SO2 into NaOH, as base will absorb as much amount of acid as you bring in contact with it.

 

2. As it is a fast irreversible reaction, will it also effect the diffusivity of SO2 into NaOH?
