Dear Roshimessi

The isolation details are normally described and shown in the engineering doc called isolation philosophy. The isolation equipped with spectacle blind is the positive isolation type. We will provide this isolation in case we have two systems and we want to break them from each other i.e. one is unserviced while another is still run. Therefore, if your vent/dran is connected to the other system e.g. flare or closed drain, the answer is Yes.
For the specticle blind location, it should be installed at the side which we are normally isolated to do cleaning or other activities.

Hope this may help you

Hello Rossi,

Normally I will install a spectacle blind or a removable spool on lines that are connected to other systems.

In other words, inlet, gas outlet, oil outlet, liquid outlet, and so on. So, yes, you are right.

However, this is for a single equipment isolation. Say if it is a 3 x 50% train, instead of isolating a single

equipment, you can isolate the whole train instead.
