The SCADA suggests the plant is licensed to Air Liquide and is built with the premises of a renowned Steel Plant in India.  This ASU is the prime supplier of Oxygen used in blast furnaces.

Dear Bodhisatya,

I am very glad to well informed from you.

I do have more questions about the ASU process. This might be basic though. :D

When we are adapting Linde cycle or others for cryogenic system, why compressing up to 40 to 60 bar instead just maintaining it below 6 bar.

From my knowledge, in order to sustain cryogenic environment, isn't 6 bar is enough?

When I have a look present SCADA and other practical cases, many of'em aplying stages of compression.

Is this configuration just for the system start-up? or for the stable ASU operation?

And, why don't or can't use membrane separator? Membrane separator can feed enriched oxygen to the latter distilation process to raise the selectivity. However, many of practical cases are not using membrane separator. Why is that?

For your information, I am in PhD course studying on ASU for now and trying to leanr very hard.

Thank you

Best regards

Shin Yoo
