Dear All,

As per API 2000.to calculate normal venting there to method Using latitude and all on pg.6 of API 2000 6th Edition.

Method-1

Incase of Thermal Out breating

Say for tank Cpacity 30000 m3,Non-Insulated,lattitude < 42 ,(Factor=0.32).

i get value of 3424 Nm3/hr.

Method-2

But buy using another direct method given in Annexure A,with Flash point<37 nad B.P <149 Deg C.

i get value of 2495 Nm3/hr.

Why so difference, is it beacuse Method -2 considered B.P and flash point  or something else.?

Also Which will correct answer?

Another Case

Also i want to calculate same for 90000 m3 tank?

Method-2 can't be used or i have to explorate the same.

Also it say for calculation of Capacity more then 30000 m3 refer to body of Internation Standard.

So shall i use Method-1 ?

Pls Help.

Regards,

NK

Hi,

If I'm not mistaken using the search engine in this forum you should find a excel sheet issued by Ankur to support your calculation.

Hope this helps
