Why is the liquid inlet generally from the bottom to top of the condenser? Even in limpet coil it follows bottom - top route. Why is this so? What happens if it is from top to bottom ?
In case of Gas, how should the inlet outlet connection be?

One reason liquid inlet is bottom to top on condenser so the flow path fills fully while pushing out any gas/vapor.
If the flow was top-to-bottom the concern may be "air pockets".
This is not a concern for gas flow.

What about gas/vapor flow in tubes ?

I repeat, "This is not a concern for gas flow."

Raj Mehta,
The main reason is when the liquid enter at the bottom of a condenser and passing inside it, gets warmer and tends to flow upward i.e. in the desired prespecified direction..
