Hello everybody,

I'd need your help in solving an issue I've faced using Aspen EDR to design a Kettle reboiler.

I have the Datasheet of fluids with heating curve of the boiling fluid.

In EDR

stream 1 is the steam used as heating medium and properties are calculated with COMThermo.

stream 2 is the liquid to boil.

Properties are specified as: User Specified Properties

I have the heating curve at the pressure 2.2 bar abs from the starting temperature up to the final temperature with a final vapour fraction of 9.9%.

In cold stream window I've specified property of Liquid and property of Vapor in the temperature range and at the pressure specified here above.

running the program two errors come up

  1. Input error 1801: P10 Physical Property data for stream 2 is missing or inadequate. Data input expected=2 (0=liquid, 1=vapour, 2=2-phase or all)
  2. Input error 1808: Property data for stream 2 at pressure 2.2 bar are provided at only one point. for two phase data, at least two points must be provided

does anybody know how to solve this trivial issue?

I cannot understand....maybe I'm making a mountain out of a molehill :)

You can try providing another set of properties  for Stream 2 (Cold).

Do it at another pressure level and see if you get rid of the error messages.

Cheers

Hi,

Can you post your EDR file to have a better look?

Regards.

Thank you for your support.

What version of EDR you have?

Is it possible to post files like that? Isn't it against forum rules? (just a question)

Hi,

I'm using ver. 8.4.

Forum rules may not be violated as long as your client does not object posting its exchanger datasheet values in public. :)

Regards.
