Hi Guys,

I'm a beginner modeling crude oil column, so i need some help to connect the ovhd of my column with the first heat exchanger of preheat train. I read some forums about that but i couldn´t converge this ovhd but I think I'm wrong with my method.

Attach my file Hysys 7.3.

I hope that someone could help because I started to feel much interest in crude oil columns.

Thanks

Use recycle option between column overhead and exchanger inlet. Your problem is because of input values  to the exchanger (hot side i.e. column overhead) must be disappearing after column failed to converge during initial iteration. Recycle will act to keep you values live for successive iteration.

Hope I'm guessing your issue correctly.

hi carlos

now, you are having duplicated overhead loops which present the different conditions. Which one is correct? Please ensure that the correct relfux flow is transfered back into the column.

if you want to model overhead line manually, selecting "Reboiled absorber" is an alternative.
