Hye all,
My name is farid,
I do have one simple question and need some of you give suggestion/opinion.
We plan to transfer steam from MP steam header to LP steam header through pressure reducing valve. The questions are as below:
1. Normally, when the piping branch out from the steam supply header, the branch out will come out from top of the header (to prevent condensate entering the branch out.) and when I do connect the LP steam header through a pressure reducing valve, what is the best connection? Is it from the top of the LP steam header too? Or by side of the LP steam header? Or bottom of the LP steam header?
From my opinion, I think it is ok as long as no condensate accumulate in the piping and just provide steam trap at the lowest piping elevation. Am i right?
2. for the pressure reducing valve (to decrease MP steam to LP steam), do we need to provide bypass, and drain for the service?
Appreciate so much fir to give some suggestion on this.
Thank you so much all
Farid
