Hi All,

High vibration reported in receiprocating compressor piping sections, one of our field, we are operating three parallal reciprocating compressors, two on at a time and one stand by. vibration analysis is done by ATL UK and as per them acoustic vibration excitation more near the suction snubbers while snubber sizies and pressure drops are as per API 618 standards.

following are the main causes of vibration.

  • Compressor suction piping loop.
  • Compressor startup by pass given at the compressor skid.
  • Suction piping support is given equal basis at 20' .

Can any one please put some more light and suggest corrective action.

Thanks
