HI,

What should be the required flowrate of a PSV (pop-up) for natural gas regulating and metering station (RMS)? Is it 5% of the inlet flowrate of an equipment? Any standard or reference?

Regards

Hi,

No specific standard, just system analysis and identifying credible overpressure scenarios and then specifying governing scenario with relevant required relief load...

Hi fallah,

Would appreciate if you comment.

In IS 15729: NATURAL GAS PRESSURE REGULATING AND METERING TERMINAL CODE OF PRACTICE

https://law.resource....15729.2007.pdf

"The capacity of pressure-relief valves and vents should be designed to limit pressure in the system to the extent which may as specified for various sub-systems. The relief valve be capable to pass maximum one percent of the effective full stream flow at full fault condition. working life."

Thank you

Hi,

It's a local standard and if it is the standard by which your are designing the NG regulating and metering system, you should follow such criteria for specifying the relevant PSV capacity...
