I have Prode Properties process library with the Mathcad extension (available in distribution files),

the Mathcad extension includes the methods for solving physical properties, multiphase flash operations, compressors, valves, pipelines  etc. but it doesn't seem to include rigorous distillation columns (which are available in Excel and Matlab),

am I missing the point or could it be just a wrong installation ?

Thanks.

I have not Mathcad but I know Prode Properties has an extension for it,

perhaps someone more familiar with Mathcad can provide detailed information

or you may contact Dr. Harvey Hensley, see

http://www.harveyhen...properties.html

there is a detailed discussion about features and installation

for both 32 and 64 bit versions of Mathcad / Prime and Prode Properties extensions

thanks marchem,

according my (little) experience (as programmer) it is easy to modify the Excel and Matlab

support files provided with PRODE PROPERTIES distribution

while Mathcad requires to create a binary file as interface,

is that true ?

I have not Prime,

for Mathcad, yes, you need a binary file.

Dr. Hensley has updated his blog with some examples about DCOL,
you may find interesting the post discussing how to evaluate the influence of reflux and other parameters on component's separation with the help of Mathcad and countour plots

thanks marchem,

the post discussing how to optimize column operating parameters (reflux etc.) is very interesting,

I guess DCOL was not available in previous versions of Mathcad dll library.

thanks marchem,

it appears that dll interface to Mathcad and Prime distributed

with Prode Properties is not the last release,

the last release (which includes DCOL) is available from Harvey Hensley's site.
