what are manually opearated valves, are manually operated valves are different than ball valve in the oil and gas industry? please explain.

Manually operated valve may be ball valve and other types such as globe,gate and so on.

Manually operated valves typically have a lever or wheel that is turned by hand to open or close the valve. The operator locates himself next to the valve to operate it. "Manual operated" describes the actuator only -- the valve is not part of any automatic control.
