Given that the theoretical column trays in HYSYS = 35 Trays

                       Tray Efficiency = 65%

I do understand that the actual column trays would then be 54 trays.

But how about the feed trays?

If i have a feed tray at no.15 trays in HYSYS,

so how about the actual feed tray? Do i have to take in the tray efficiency too as same above?

Kindly enlighten me on this.

Thank you.

Surely you already know the obvious answer to your question.

Just for confirmation, you mean i have to take in consideration of the tray efficiency for the feed tray level too right? ^^

you can find the "obvious answer" suggested by Bobby in textbooks discussing distillation,

I have those written by Henry Kister, see for example Distillation Design, in my copy

chapters 6 and 7 discuss tray design and operation including methods based on efficiency

and rate based (nonequilibrium).

Most simulators allow to specify tray efficiency (based on Holland or Murphy or other models)

or adopt a rate based method,

for tray efficiency you can convert to the number of actual trays with a linear relation.

For distillation I use a different software (PRODE PROPERTIES)  and I do not know the operating details

with your software but I expect that you can apply the same methodology.
