Dear All,

 

As we calculate MDMT of process piping using Hysys de-pressuring utility, how can we calculate the MDMT for vessels. If the same technique is utilized then please elaborate How?

To estimate the proper and primary value of MDMT and following that selection of the proper material for a pressure vessel, the designer shall take into account all aspects of low temperature service conditions (low ambient temperature, depressurizing temperature,...) to which the vessel might be subjected.Then using the codes, e.g. ASME, we can specify the exact MDMT of the equipment by performing specified tests and analysis...

Hysys lumps the model as a vessel with gas outlet and liquid outlet. Advanced depressurization modeling based on actual configuration has been developed by other companies. You can check out.
