Dear All,
I am bit confused with Evaporation rate calculation method mentioned in API 2000.
As per Clause, In Annex-A, A.3.2.3, 2nd last Paragraph.
What Exactly does it says,
I carried out calculation as follows.
My incoming flow rate is 112 m3/hr at 45 deg C.
Density of Liquid is 985 kg/me at 45 Deg C.
So may Mass flow is 110320 kg/hr.
Evaporation rate of 0.5 %, So evaporation mass flow rate is 0.005 * 110320 = 551.6 kg/hr.
Next say Density of Air is 1.29 kg/m3 at 45 deg C.
(As per 2nd last statement of 2nd last paragraph).
HC vapor density is 1.5 times of Air Density = 1.5 * 1.29 = 1.935 kg/m3
So my evaporation rate is 551.6/1.935 kg/m3
Evaporation rate = 285.06 m3/hr @ 45 deg C.
Evaporation rate in Nm3/hr is = 245 nm3/hr.
Am i Correct .
I have a Doubt.
