Hello everyone,

I would like you to persue my masters abroad. I have taken both my GRE and TOEFL exam with scores 312 and 101 respectively. Though I wish to start my career in oil and gas industry I'm in a dilemma as to whether I should take chemical engineering or petroleum engineering in my Masters. Kindly share your opinion based on employment opportunities and prospects. Thanks in advance.

You should pick the one most suitable to you. Only you can make an informed decision.

I don't know the scope of a Petroleum Engineering study, but it seems to me that it is less than a Chemical Engineering study.

If you chose Chemical Engineering you can later still become a petroleum engineer, but if you chose Petroleum Engineering you are later limited if you decide not to become a petroleum engineer.

Note also that what you now think your future should be, can already have changed by the time you finished your master's.
