Hi,

We are designing a wellhead control panel from new wellheads that includes a hydraulic power unit (HPU) to provide wellhead valve actuators (Master and Wing) with Hydraulic Oil at 207 barg (3000 psig).

How is it possible to predict the return pressure from the valve actuators back to the oil reservoir (atmospheric tank)? We are currently have two opinions:

1- the oil pressure will be atmospheric as soon as it flows through the return line

2- The oil pressure will be high and will lose pressure as it flows through the line.

Your feedback is appreciated.

Sherif
