Dear forum members,

I am totally confused by how to read ASME B31.1, paragraph 122.3.6 (A5) on fittings and joints for Instrument, Control and Sampling Piping.

Paragraph A5 mentions "outlet end", dont  know what they mean by outlet.

Paragraph A5 includes comma separated concepts and I dont know how to interpret them, as "And" as "Or".

If anyone, acquainted with the code, can help me, I would be very grateful. Possibly, a hand drawn sketch of the interpretation of A5 would be enough.

Best regards to all.
