I am new to HYSYS coding. Though I have seen numerous topic regarding "user variable" in HYSYS in this forum without any reply. Can some body lead me to any reference where I can start.

Though Bobby has replied such kind of question before. My answer to him is Hysys stream reporter helped me to get the properties but i cannot understand majority of the code. So please advise.

I could not find any reference in aspentech website either.

Thanks

You should have the HYSYS guides if you have HYSYS. AspenTech can advise you where to find them. Or try Google. You can also Google Unisim which is essentially identical to HYSYS. If you can't find any, let me know. Personally, I found no need to use user variables and I have been using HYSYS for years.

Thanks Bobby

My understanding in using user variable is to use it in some common calculation.

Like for pipe Size thickness calculation.

As majority of  property values are available in HYSYS if I can specify internal dia by user variable i can get velocity & pressure drop of all the pipeline in one project without having transfer the property data to an excel sheet and creating a different excel. Same goes for pipe thickness.

Another thing I wanted to incorporate id Control valve calculations.

Another thing it gives me is that it gives me a tool to use for dynamic study we know the velocity limitation of pipes and other. So in turndown ratio what would be the limiting condition? from user variable i will easily get that.

Another thing is restriction orifice or orifice as we  usualy have several in one plant.
