Dears,

I need a document or a procedure to perform hand calculation based design of an air cooler. I mean to determine things such as the area, number of bays, number of fans, fan horse power... etc. I need it just for rough estimates for students and/or young engineers.

Regards,

For rough estimates you can use an online calculator, like the one from GEA

http://www.gearainey...Calculator.html

or Hudson: http://www.hudsonpro...m/download.html

GPSA Section 10 is very good source for Air Cooled Heat Exchanger Design for students and/or young engineers.
