Hi,
We have a spray drying tower where we produce granules. A stream of hot air is blown by a blower in to the tower during normal operation.Tower has a risk of explosion due to high temperature and concentration of dust. Incase of a fire, fire sprinkler system spray 70kg/s water into the tower which creates steam. Further spraying creates mass steam condensation and vacuum.
Can the valve free duct from the inlet fan(in stop mode) to tower act as a vacuum protection for the tower ?
Note : The inlet fan will get shut down by the emergency shut down sequence in the event of a fire.
Attached is a PPT showing the system for your better understanding.
Regards,
Renjith.
