Hi Guys,

I have a very quick question. I designed single flow ( light oil ) size 3 NPS pipeline. I have got erosional velocity upto 14.50 ft/s. I know there is no

need to consider erosional velocity when single phase flow taken into account but I need to know is it ok to go ahead with such high velocity in my

case.

Sorry client is not urging to increase pipe size more than 3 inch and 80 sch.

Any idea!!!

If pressure drop is not limiting CS pipe can have max velocity as high as 6 m/sec (19.68 fps) with out sand. However, generally the velocity is limited to 1 to 2.2 m/sec for 3" pipe.
