Hi:

I Want to design a pipeline that will transport heavy fuel, this leaves the point of release for 70 to 80 ° C (158 F to 176 F) and cooled on the way up to about 30 ° C(86 F) . Fuel is Fuel Oil, bottom of the distillation of petroleum. Here are some characteristics kinematics viscosity (50 ° C <> 122 F)  is 400 to 500 cSt, and API (15 ° C <> 60 F) = 18.5. My question is whether this fuel oil is a Newtonian fluid.

Thank you

Some fuel oils exhibit non Newtonian flow. Please refer to ASTM D 445 test method for more details.
