We have a horizontal cylindrical tank with flat ends for storing diesel of the following dimensions:

Diameter = 38 inches

Height = 72 inches

How to calculate the volume for every inch of height in the vessel. Do we have a ready spread sheet for this calculation to help me...

Thanking all of you for your time and expertise.

You can visit my website for calculation. Just google my name to find it. The calculation includes spherical or elliptical heads. You can get just the cylinder volume by subtraction. Set the length to 0 and you get the head volume. And the calculation has been validated. If you find a spreadsheet, better check a few results. You can develop your own spreadsheet in short order, which would probably be beneficial to you. You only need the formula, which, if you don't have you can findon the web or derive from your knowledge of geometry.

AFD:

You can also download for free a complete Excel workbook from our website that allows you to calculate any cylindrical vessel - whether vertical or horizontal - with flat, ellipsoidal, hemispherical, or flanged & dished heads for volume content at any height within the vessel.  It's titled: "Vessel Volumes"

I put this workbook together about 20 years ago and have distributed it all over the globe since that time.

You will find a calculator here, too. Use at your own risk. I recommend that you check the results. If it gives the right answers, let us know.
