Gear Operated Valve Requirement For Fire Water Network

Hi Everyone,

Fire water system in refinery normally has large pipe lize (more than 20"). For any bigger size valve installed in the fire water network , do we need to have these valves gear operated for facilitating operation or anybody could operate a fire valve manually without requirement of having gear.

Please advise.

Also, OS&Y is specified for all fire valves . Apart from gate valve are there any other valve of this category (OS&Y)? Please advise.
