Dear All,
Today Slug Volume calculation in multiphase pipelines is generally done using sophisticated pipeline flow assurance software such as PIPESIM, OLGA etc. These are sophisticated and expensive software with accessibility to very few engineering companies who can afford the high license fees for using these software.
I was wondering if there are empriical and numerical correlations for calculating maximum slug volumes which would give a reasonable (maybe somewhat conservative) result.
I understand that slug volume estimation has to be evaluated considering several transient scenarios such as "Start-Up", "Ramp-Up, "Shutdown-Cooldown-Start-up" and "Pigging".
I would request the "Cheresources" community members to provide some idea on doing manual calculations for maximum slug volumes in multiphase pipelines.
Regards,
Ankur.
