Hello everyone,

I'm a research chemist working for a contract research organization. I have a PhD in organic chemistry and 13 years of working experience.

We get an increasing demand of our customers to design solutions for synthetic or purification problems which should be 'scalable'. Since I have little experience in process chemistry I'd like to read up on this topic or perhaps follow a coarse.

Note that I don't desire to be able to calculate the dimensions and flows in a reactor. More importantly, I'd like to know which solvents to use (and which ones not), which conditions can be easily applied and which are more difficult, etc. etc. So, can anyone recommend me a book?

All the best,

Michel

Solvent use and solvent chemistry is wide and specific like those for  paints, varnishers, thinners, pharmaceuticals, rubber, textiles etc. Please see the attachment. You may find it useful.
