Hi all,

Can you explain how the solubility of water in sour hydrocarbon is higher than sweet hydrocarbons?

Sour hydrocarbons are those containing hydrogen sulfide and mercaptans. Sweet hydrocarbons do not contain H2S and RSH.  Because water dissolves more in H2S and RSH (both of them are highly polar) may be a reason.
