Hello everyone, I would like to know the exact role of NAOH and Trisodium Phosphate in the steam drum and its dosing requirements based the feed water quality? Thanks.

Dear chalapathi:

The role phosphate is the make soft sludge after combination with calcium ,thus preventing formation hard scale of calcium.

The ratio of Na to phosphate must be maintained between 2.5 to 3 , which depend to water purity and boiler pressure for establish buffer condition in boiler for preventing boiler PH  change.
