Hi there guys.

I'm new at this forum, so I'm not quite sure if this is the right place to ask this.

So, I'm trying to simulate a process in Aspen to verify it's feasibility. However, I'm facing some problems not very easy to deal with.

The first problem I'm having is: I'm trying to mix 2 streams, one with water and other with gaseous CO2. As a result, I would expect to see some temperature increase, however, that doesn't happen. It seems that the choise of the thermodynamic model has a serious impact on this.

But first of all, I would like to know if the solubility of a gas is well described my a adiabatic mixer or not. I tried for instance a flash, and I observed that depending on the thermodynamic model, the process was exothermal or endothermal (in special, using Pitzer, at room-temperature, I observed that the heat duty is very similar to the heat of dissolution of co2 in water as described in literature).

Basically, my question is, which model describes the best the dissolution of co2 in water? a simple mixer or a flash drum?

Also, i would like to know if there is a simple tutorial that could teach people to introduce equilibrium models in Aspen.

Thanks
