Can anyone tell me the philosophy, selecting the locaiton of corrosion coupon in oil and gas industry. In general, where we can avoid it in hydrocarbon service, I mean is there in guideline which can help to know further on this subject.

Install a corrosion coupon in the place where is predicted as the most severe corrosive point.

This has been observed beside of inhibitor injection for investigation of inhibition effect of it, or in condtion that offspec condtion laeds to corrosion this provision should be considered for abnormal condition(offspec condition lead to corroesion(example offspec dry acid gas on acid gas dehydration) .
