I would like to simulate the effect of change in feed composition on purity ( steady state) . I defined the reflux ratio and the distillate draw rate as specs.

Next I created a case study , and I am trying to define the feed composition as independent and product purity as a dependent variable .But  the feed composition is always listed as dependent variable in the case study. So I can not make any step changes in the feed composition . Please guide  me , how to do this in hysys. 2006

Instead of a case study you can simply do multiple runs with different feed composition.

 

Note however that it is total nonsens to define the reflux ratio and the distillate draw rate as specs when you want to investigate impact of feed composition.
