Hi,

In the Instrument Air Compressor Package for our Project, We have considered two different receivers.

a)Wet receiver: Located downstream of the compressor which reduces velocity after compression. Reduction in the velocity helps moisture removal prior to the drier package. Therefore it reduces the load on dryer adsorbents.

b)Dry receiver: Located downstream of the dryer package which acts as a buffer vessel.

My query is, in addition to these two vessels, should we need to have small surge vessels near bunch of the large pneumatic actuators (BDVs, SDVs) to absorb the demand spikes. My understanding is each BDV (blowdown valve) and SDV (shutdown valve) already comes with 'volume bottle' which is designed for 2 or 3 actuator strokes. Therefore, separate surge vessels for bunch of SDVs / BDVs are not required.

Can you please confirm my understanding.

Thank you.

Regards,

Small Surge Vessel stated in the description is not installed in our designs; we only have volume bottles for BDV.
