Hello

I am a student who is currently doing my final project. My final project is doing a preliminary design of LPG Plant. CO2 concentration in feed gas is really high (around 40% mole). To remove it, I will use CO2 membrane removal technology, which from what I learned is a best choice for high concentration of CO2. I found out that some technology can achieve a best result for this, for example IGS Generon Membrane can remove >90% of CO2, with >98% recovery of hydrocarbon gas.

I need to calculate the membrane area required, and any other spec of membrane that may be required in designing the CO2 membrane removal. I have tried looking it in some literature, but I can't find the applicable equations ( I mean, the equations i found are really complex, and I don't know if it is even commonly used).

Could you please suggest me any book or anything that could help me. Thanks in advance

Regards,

Rasyid

Only membrane manufacturers have what you are seeking. So I am surprised that your adviser let you pursue this subject. You might find some information within a research paper. However, when you complete this project, you will not be much wiser. Good luck.

If the technology is a "black box", then treat it as one.  Write a performance specification.  We can help you with that, if needed.  Find a vendor who is willing to help a student i.e. no sale.  You will find one if you are polite and humble.  They were students at one time too.  They will give you a quote, physical description of the equipment, terms and conditions, maybe dimensional drawings, etc.  It's worth a try.

Let you try google and it is certainly good to follow latexman's advice.

Good luck
