Dear All,

We have 3 stage Propylene Refrigeration compressor. Which is operating at 0.3 kg/Cm2g(-41°C) , 2.1 Kg/cm2g (-20°C), 5.8Kg/Cm2g (4°C) at each stage suctions and discharge will be 20.1 Kg/Cm2g (86°C). The Propylene is condensed with Cooling water only.

After taking Propylene in each stage drum, all the drums are at 9.5 kg/cm2g. So, while we are starting this compressor, how much opening should be kept for each stage suction PVs?. (Antisurge we have to open fully).

Note that, This is a fixed speed Motor driven compressor and all the suction PICs and Antis urge FICs are controlled by CCC.

If anyone having experience in starting up refrigeration (Centrifugal) Compressors please help me in reply.

Thank you.

Anjaleyan.

Anjaleyan ,

If it's a machine already in operation you should have SOP ( Standard Operating procedure , including start up procedure ) , if it's a new compressor you should have a manual from Vendor explaining how to start and the conditions ( logic/interlock associated with CCC) .

Hope this helps.

This Compressor is going to be commissioned first time. So, we dont have the SOP with the initial opening of suction valves. Manual also not that detailed. So, We have contacted our vendor process engineers. they are studying in it.

Soon we hope will get a Answer.

Thank you for your reply & time spent.
