Is any standards/codes which describes the Crude Heater firing rates? We fired furnace during start up at different rates like sometimes 50F/ hr ,60 F/hr,70F/hr, 75F/hr in similar conditions?

Kindly suggest me the disadvantage at higher firing rate except thermal shock for heater tubes?

Hi ,

Let me ask you how often? Just curious .

Did you check the SOP or Instruction given by vendor/Manufacturer?

Rao Arsalan,

The values that you say are only recommendations. Breizh has reason, you need to review vendor´s recommendations.

In my refinery we work with 60°F/h, the our vendor recommedation is the minumum time for to reach the normal operational temperature is between 3 or 4 hours, in our situacion the crude oil enter at 150°F and the out temperature is 650°F, this is an increase of 125°F/h (approx. 50°C/h), for us 60°F/h is a reasonable value.

In another refinery we work with 50°C/h (°C=Celsius).

50°F/h = 0.83 °F/min, 60°F/h = 1.00 °F/min; 70°F=1.17°F/min; 75°F/h = 1.25°F/min, (min = minute), all these values are very close.

Napo.
