Dears,

When we perform a hydraulic calculation of a piping system that has fittings we can use the resistance coefficient K or the equivalent length. Which one gives more accurate results? And why?

Also, is the K value independent of the flow rate and is it constant for a fitting size?

There are methods that correlate K with size and flow, aka 2-K and 3-K methods. And you should know the relationship between K and equivalent length.

On top of  Bobby's comment , you should investigate using the search feature in this Forum , Katmar and Ankur  posted great info on the matter .
