Hello,

we are involved in a RO design and Blow Down system design.

We are going to use Hysys tool (depressuring tool, Hysys V.8.6).

What I'd want to ask is if someone has experience in using the same tool, if the tool gives accurate results and if some tips\suggestions could be shared.

the system we are involved is a multiphase (gas+condensate) vertical gas scrubber.

regards

Hi

There is nothing untoward wrong with using HYSYS DP utility  providing you understand how it works and how to input the correct data and interpretate the results properly. In other words if you put garbage data in you will get garbage out.

There are many posts on here and other sites that will give you tips and tricks.Attached are a couple of articles that may help you. Read as much as you can on using the DP utility before using it on a study. Then try altering some of teh input parameters ( recycle efficiency, isentropic eff, etc to see the effect on your results )

My experienced advice is "go with a full dynamic simulation".

good luck!

Thank you all for your kind replies.

@flarenuf

thanks for material you shared.

I agree with your point of view: garbage in garbage out.

Thank you again

@gegio1960

I will try this approach.

Thanks for the tip
